ABOUT ABTAM

The Association is incorporated under the Companies Act of the Province of Manitoba by Letters of Patent issued April 19, 1971. The Association is governed by a Council consisting of an elected Board of Directors.

 

An Annual General Meeting is held during March of each calendar year, with Council meetings held on a regular basis throughout the year.

 

The Board of DIrectors, with support of working committees, fosters a program of information exchange among membership by way of publications, membership directories, technical seminars and by representation to government agencies.

 

Emphasis being placed on close co-operation with related industry, government and institutional forums, to promote public awareness of the Association and its membership's skills.

 

ABTAM welcomes inquiries from prospective members, employers, government and public agencies.

Our Objectives
  • To obtain recognition of the society in industry and business.

  • To classify all members according to their attained levels of proficiency

  • To provide exchanges of information for the benefits of all members.

  • To co-operate with other organizations and to promote relations with associated professions.

 

 

 

  • On June 14, 1979 the MAA Council passed a motion to accept BTAM's proposed name change to include "Architectural".

  • On September 26, 1996 the MAA Council passed a motion to re-confirm its recogntion of ABTAM as the sole organization to certify Architectural and Building Technologists of Manitoba.
